Holden brings a combination of high-level competitive playing experience, professional scouting expertise, and hockey operations leadership to his approach to individualized player development.

A former Western Hockey League (WHL), British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), and Maritime Hockey League (MHL) player, Holden continued his hockey career at Wilfrid Laurier University, competing at the U SPORTS level. His experience across major junior, Junior A, and university hockey has given him firsthand insight into the demands of competitive play, the challenges of progressing through different levels, and the importance of developing a well-rounded understanding of the game.

Today, Holden serves as Director of Hockey Operations for a professional hockey scouting organization and Director of Scouting for Eastern Canada, overseeing Atlantic Canada and Quebec. In these leadership roles, he works extensively in player evaluation and performance analysis, developing a professional perspective on the skills, habits, decision-making, and situational awareness that contribute to effective gameplay.

Holden is also a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), with formal education in anatomy, biomechanics, musculoskeletal health, and physical function. This additional background complements his understanding of athletic movement and physical performance.

Drawing on his experience both on the ice and in professional player evaluation, Holden offers an individualized approach to hockey performance and development.

Through detailed game-film analysis, time-stamped feedback, and personalized development recommendations, he helps players gain a deeper understanding of their own performance. His approach goes beyond identifying successful plays or mistakes, focusing on the reasoning behind decisions, recognizing patterns in gameplay, and understanding how different choices can influence the outcome of a situation.

Holden recognizes that players dedicate considerable time to developing their technical abilities, but may have fewer opportunities to receive detailed, individualized feedback on how they apply those skills during competition. His services are designed to complement existing coaching and training by providing dedicated attention to each player’s unique strengths, tendencies, and development priorities.

His goal is to help players develop the awareness, confidence, and hockey intelligence to better understand their game, make more informed decisions, and take an active role in their continued development.
